Facilier held out his hand to the younger male. “I gotta know you trust me. Shake my hand, or else the magic won’t work!” Facilier waited while Nuka slowly reached out and took his hand. Facilier gave it a good shake, making a pact of trust.
“Now kid, hold on to your hats and glasses and whatnots, ‘cuz this is gonna be a crazy ride! I’m calling for assistance from my friends on the other side!” As Facilier yelled out the last part, a disquieting metamorphosis began around the duo. Swirls like red water cascaded over them in a dome, albeit a dome with large holes in it. Slowly however, these swirls slowly grew together creating a protective bubble around them. With a final wave of his hand, Facilier finished the spell, causing the bubble to close in around them. From an outside view, it would appear that a small red tent had been caught in the wind as the bubble shot off into the sky.
Inside the bubble was a different scenario. The insides worked like a chameleon, taking the colors that were passing and quickly making a kaleidoscopic image that would cause anyone unused to the travel to vomit profusely. Finally, after a whirlwind of a trip, the duo was suddenly standing in the courtyard of a castle, complete with a small well for collecting water.
“So kid, what did ya think?” Facilier asked Nuka.
Nuka extended a shaky hand out to Facilier as promise that he trusted him. Nuka was scared out of his mind, and completely clueless as to what was going on around him but sure, he trusted Facilier. There wasn’t anyone else he could trust to help him anyway, Facilier was all he knew in this strange new place filled with humans. During the time he’d been there, he hadn’t seen one other animal to relate to and certainly no other lions wandering about. He was very out of his element, not that he really “fit in” back home either. It seemed as though Nuka was doomed to alway be an outsider no matter where he ended up.
After sealing the deal with Facilier, the atmosphere around them changed drastically. The noisy parade looked warped as he looked through it from inside colorful swirls that surrounded them and drowned out all excess noises. The swirls slowly consumed them until they were wrapped up in a color changing bubble that caused them to travel elsewhere. “WHAT’S HAPPENING? I DON’T LIKE THIS! LET ME OUT LET ME OUT!” Nuka screamed in panic as he always did. Everything was changing so fast. First being transported to a new place, then changing form, and now traveling by what could only be described as magic. It was way too much for his tiny little brain to handle.
Nuka began to get dizzy from the quickly changing colors and fell down with a thud. He even blacked out for a minute or two, but when he woke up, instead of looking up at the inside of the colorful dome they were once enclosed in, he was looking up at a dark cloudy sky, which was still spinning from when he hit his head. He jolted up though, his head throbbing, and looked around at their new surroundings.
They were right outside of a large castle. It was the largest building Nuka had seen so far. The castle was up on a cliff, one piece of land that was familiar to Nuka which eased him a little bit. He stood up slowly once his head stopped spinning. The castle was white with many, many towers and pointed red rooftops. It actually looked very inviting. “WHAT IS THIS?! WHERE ARE WE?! I DON’T KNOW WHAT THAT IS BUT CAN WE GO INSIDE PLEASE PLEEEEEAAASEEEEE?” Nuka said, jumping up and down. He was actually excited to be in this new place, rather than scared like in the last place they were. It was calmer here, no other people around and not as noisy or suffocating. Nuka ran right up the steps, on all fours just so he could get up there faster. When he got to the large double doors, he stopped almost hitting his head in the process. He really could not wait to get inside and began twitching with excitement. Little did he know what awaited him on the inside.
